The technology used for this family of products is cold heading.
The technological and economic benefits of cold heading can be found in the highly competitive near net shape blanks that are obtained thanks to:
- the mechanical properties induced by cold working which adequately fulfil operational requirements,
- the precision of the blank which allows the rationalisation of the finishing stages (vessel length cutting).
Recommended material grades: weldable non-alloy or low-alloy, low-carbon steels.
Methods of production:
- Forge: using vertical or horizontal multistation presses
- Finishing: machining on mechanical multiple-spindle lathes, drilling, material soundness testing.
GÉVELOT EXTRUSION, drawing on more than 25 years of experience in this family of products, is able to offer a level of quality that fulfils the safety requirements for these products.
